The 2020 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru has a tightly wound bouquet with lemon thyme, light mint and crushed stone aromas. The oak here is neatly integrated. The palate is well-defined, with edgy, citric tannins, fresh acidity and a little more lime than its peers. However, outstanding transparency and energy were pinned down on the finish, which leaves oyster shells and saline notes on the aftertaste. Superb. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Cask sample. White flowers and breezy freshness on top of a light syrup concentration of peach and apricot. There’s a notion of heat and a whisper of honeyed spice. (MH)
The 2020 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru has a taut, fresh and delineated bouquet with fine tension, touches of pressed white flower emerging with time in the glass. The palate is beautifully balanced with a fine bead of acidity, quite powerful but showing more complexity and depth than others that I have tasted at other Domaines. Very harmonious and persistent on the finish. Just a superb and "complete" Chevalier-Montrachet. Closure: Diam
