2023 Volnay Caillerets

The 2023 Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru comes from 95-year-old vines that produce small berries, hence yields of just 12hl/ha, matured in one-third new oak. It has an intense bouquet of red cherries, wild strawberries and crushed stone with impressive delineation and transparency. The palate is medium-bodied with a precocious yet controlled entry—quite spicy with fine grip, more black fruit manifesting toward a finish that fans out beautifully.
