Note di degustazione
The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Caillerets 1er Cru has an open and expressive nose with white peach, lemon verbena and light chalky scents, beautifully defined and focused. The oak here is seamlessly integrated. The palate has a flinty reduction on the entry, matched by a keen line of acidity. Tensile and poised, the 2020 builds confidently to a complex, weighty finish. The more you drink this, the more it reveals what a stupendous Caillerets this is. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets is, as usual, one of the highlights of the range. Unfurling in the glass with aromas of citrus oil, fresh bread, beeswax, confit lemon and wet stones, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, with a beautifully tensile and incisive profile, concluding with a long, mineral finish.
The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet En Cailleret 1er Cru sports a captivating nose of citrus peel, crushed rock, sea spray and red apple scents that soar from the glass. The palate is very well balanced, with touches of wild peach, apricot and nectarine, and so pretty on the finish that you could elope with the barrel sample. (For the record, I did not. But I was tempted.)
