2019 Chassagne Montrachet Les Vergers

The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers 1er Cru is missing a little cohesion on the nose, more tertiary in style than its peers, with touches of chamomile and pear, yet it remains a little austere. The palate is slightly bitter on the entry, with taut acidity (maybe some adjustment in this respect?). It attenuates a little toward the finish, where you seek more depth and concentration. It leaves you feeling a bit shortchanged. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
