Note di degustazione
The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers 1er Cru is another slightly reduced wine on the nose. There's more yellow fruit here and resinous/waxy scents that surface with aeration. The aromatics develop nicely in the glass after 20 minutes. The palate is well-balanced with a crisp line of acidity, overtly spicy with a slightly resinous finish. This is a Chassagne with complexity and length. Great potential. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Cask sample. Juicy and correct with fine, crystalline fruit though it falls away slightly on the finish. (JR)
The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers 1er Cru has a clean and precise bouquet, though it does not quite have the complexity of the Morgeot at the moment. The palate is fairly concentrated with ample weight, Corton-Charlemagne-like in some ways, though it needs more tension and mineralité on the finish.
