Punteggio 97/100 · Da bere 2026-2048, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Jun 2025

Bruno Rocca and his family have an incredible Riserva program focused on Currà and Rabajà. When these special wines are made, they are always worth seeking out. The Bruno Rocca 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Currà (with 1,100 bottles created) is fine and delicate. This wine embraces a classical Nebbiolo profile with dark fruit, blue flower and crushed mineral. The wine ferments in oak for 40 to 45 days with submerged cap. It later matures in botti for 16 months.

The 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Currà is stellar. A wine of tremendous energy and vibrancy, the 2019 is seriously impressive right out of the gate. Bright acids and driving tannins wrap around a deep core of red/purplish fruit. The Riserva has a bit more sweetness than the straight bottling, but both wines are marked by their superb textural elegance. The 2019 is every bit as impressive is it was last year.

The 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Currà is a stunning wine. All the signatures of this site are amplified in a statuesque Barbaresco that is thrilling right out of the gate. Crushed raspberry, blood orange, cinnamon and new leather all run through the 2019. The 2019 is a wild, powerful, structured wine built for aging. Time in the glass brings out the wine's more refined side to balance things out. In a word: stellar.

Neive. Just mid ruby with orange tinges. Finely stitched-together nose of poised red fruit with only a suggestion of savoury spicy hints, a peppery tingle and black tea leaves. Very slow to unfurl and tightly wound. Still a little shy, but with plenty of concentration. The fine gravelly tannins and the fresh acidity grip the long, embryonic fruit on the finish with just a suggestion of oak. (WS)
