2012 Barolo Vigna Gattera

The 2012 Barolo Gattera is one of the more immediate wines in the range. Black cherry, plum, leather, menthol and tobacco are all pushed forward. Succulent, deep and racy, the 2012 offers plenty of near-term appeal to match its fleshy personality. As with the Rocche, I find the new oak a bit overpowering given the essentially mid-weight style of the year.
