The 2014 Barbaresco is just as impressive today as it was last year. Fresh, aromatic and brisk on the palate, the Barbaresco captures all the pedigree of this vintage. Freshly cut flowers, sweet red berries, cedar, mint and pine give the wine brightness, an impression that is reinforced by high acidity and pulsating tannins. The 2014 is a blend of fruit from the lower portion of Currà (the upper part is destined for the Riserva), Fausoni, Marcorino and San Cristoforo.

Bruno Rocca is a master when it comes to achieving elegance and finesse with the Nebbiolo grape. The 2014 Barbaresco is a great example of this talent. The bouquet is subdued and even shy at first, but it opens slowly with impressive complexity and nuance. Many descriptors apply here including cassis, licorice, spice, white truffle and balsam herb. The mouthfeel exhibits extreme silkiness and grace. Give this wine a few more years of cellar age to flesh out further.
