The 2019 Barbaresco is classy and elegant to the core. Sweet red cherry, blood orange, cinnamon, cedar and sweet pipe tobacco all grace this ethereal, understated Barbaresco. There's a bit of edginess in the tannin that needs time to resolve. Otherwise, this is very nicely done. The 2019 is a bit less expressive today than it was last year.

Neive. Grapes come from San Cristoforo, Marcorino and Fausoni. Cappello sommerso or submerged cap for a total of six months. Aged in large oak casks for 14 months followed by nine months in bottle. Pale ruby. Intensity of sweet red fruit on the nose and with a hint of liquorice and supple juicy fruit with gripping but ripe tannins on the finish. Ready now but can age. (WS)
The 2019 Barbaresco is a fabulous wine at its level. It offers striking depth and intensity. Layered and racy in the glass, the 2019 possesses tremendous depth and tons of pedigree. Bright red-toned fruit, blood orange, spice, mint and white pepper all grace this wonderfully expressive Barbaresco. Vineyard sites are Currà, Fausoni, younger vines in Rabajà and San Cristoforo.
