The 2019 Barolo Cerretta has shut down considerably since I last tasted it, but the elements are also more put together in that the wine is a harmonious whole rather than a combination of individual components. Dark red fruit, rose petal, orange peel, spice and dried herbs are beautifully sketched. I would not dream of touching a bottle anytime soon.

The 2019 Barolo Cerretta is stunning already, offering wonderful floral notes as well as pure red fruits and delicate, smoky incense. It is linear and persistent but remains elegant, with notable but refined tannins. Tightly coiled and energetic, with blood orange, bergamot, and crushed stones, this rocky, vibrant red can be enjoyed 2026-2046+.
The 2019 Barolo Cerretta is the only Barolo Roberto Conterno will release in this vintage, as all the Francia and Arione went into Monfortino. Soaring, effusive aromatics make a strong opening statement. Bright red-toned fruit, crushed rocks, mint, chalk and white pepper all race out of the glass. A wine of brilliant delineation and tension, the 2019 is seriously impressive. I would be in no rush to open bottles here.

Giacomo Conterno è probabilmente l'azienda agricola più celebre del Barolo. Sebbene sia famosa soprattutto per il suo Monfortino Riserva, la qualità riscontrabile in ogni imbottigliamento di Nebbiolo e Barbera in questo luogo ne fa un produttore di riferimento per entrambe le varietà.
