Note di degustazione
The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Vergers is lovely, wafting from the glass with notes of apple, white flowers, pear and subtle hazelnut cream. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny and elegant, with a giving, open-knit profile but tangy underlying acids and a stony finish. It exemplifies the charm and lovely balance of which this white Burgundy vintage is capable.

(this 2000 planting yielded 60 hectoliters per hectare, according to estate manager Michel Coutoux): Bright healthy yellow. Pure, restrained aromas of orchard fruits and spices complicated by a hint of passion fruit. Juicy, tight and dry, showing less sweetness and concentration than the Clos Saint-Jean. Still a bit meager in terms of its flesh and fruit expression: will this wine fill out with more élevage ? Finishes with good length and lift.
