2014 Barolo Castelletto

A wine of breadth and intensity, the 2014 Barolo Castelletto expresses all of the qualities that make Barolos from this Monforte site so distinctive. Lavender, menthol, pine, black cherry, plum and crushed rocks are all beautifully delineated. Here, too, the balance of fruit, minerality and structure is impeccable. There is plenty of the richness that is typical of these wines, but the cool, late-ripening season and the insistent minerality typical of Castelletto both add myriad shades of nuance.
