Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2020-2040, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2018

The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Vergers is superb, opening in the glass with a bright bouquet of fresh apple, lime, toasted nuts and candied peel. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and glossy but structured around a lovely line of succulent, mouthwatering acidity that persists through the racy finish. This is one of the highlights of the range, the cooler mesoclimate of Les Vergers being beautifully adapted to warmer vintages such as 2015.

Sexy spice and lees notes add sex appeal to the aromas of yellow peach and lemon. More citrus zest energy gives this wine a distinctly bracing character. Tactile, fine-grained, juicy wine with intense lemon and orange acidity and lovely inner-mouth tension and lift. Finishes saline, firm-edged and long, with excellent energy for the vintage.

(just finished its malolactic fermentation): Pale color. Inviting aromas of lemon, orange and hazelnut, with a touch of mineral reduction. Tightly wound and surprisingly fresh, showing lovely lift for 2015. Not hugely rich but finishes long and firm, with a tactile, saline stony quality.

The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Vergers, which is a cuvée that tends to ferment and age slowly, was initially subdued. However, after just a couple of minutes, the aromas awaken and offer enticing scents of lemon curd, granite, a hint of vanilla pod and almond, all well defined. The palate is very fresh with a fine line of acidity. This is one of the most harmonious samples I tasted from Alex Moreau, not a hair out of place, with a beautifully poised, almost crystalline finish. Given the growing season, this should be considered a great success. Dec 2016, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2018-2030
