Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2016-2028, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Jun 2015

Showing an elegant and feminine side (despite the warm vintage), the 2011 Barbaresco Coparossa is approachable and ready to drink in the near- and medium-term. The wine is shaped by soft lines of pressed flowers, anise seed, crushed mineral and white pepper corn. It shows delineated, dusty tannins but it also shows a great deal of energy and tonic freshness on the close.

Bright red cherries, plums, freshly cut flowers and mint jump from the glass in the 2011 Barbaresco Coparossa, a wine that stands out for its freshness and energy. Still, there is plenty of vintage 2011 radiance, but all the elements are very much in the right place. Coparossa is a blend of fruit from Pajorè, from which it takes volume, tannin and balsamic nuances and Fausoni, which adds aromatic overtones. The explosive finish is impossible to resist.

Bright, full red; much darker than the entry-level Barbaresco. Complex nose offers briary notes of dark cherry, iron, rose, underbrush and camphor. Then dense and dry on the palate, with smoky, saline underbrush flavors dominating fruit and floral nuances. Finishes savory and youthfully chewy, with a hint of bitterness. Much bigger than the entry-level wine, but nowhere near as charming. (ID)

The estate's 2011 Barbaresco Coparossa shows its typical personality, with the slightly firm tannins, vibrant acidity and angular, young-Nebbiolo contours. This gorgeous Barbaresco is going to be fun to follow as it comes together in bottle. Freshly cut flowers, mint, spices and pine add the final layers of complexity. The structure of these sites and the generosity of the year seem to make a formidable combination.
