Very ripe peach and honey aromas are nicely lifted by a floral note. Fat, sweet and full; soft but with good fruit and floral character. Nicely concentrated, rich premier cru with a sweet, lingering, slightly warm finish. Like the village Chassagne, this has turned out well.

Aromatically revealing toasty minerals, the 2003 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers (white) sports a light to medium-bodied character reminiscent of sappy minerals ensconced in liquid suede. Reduced on the nose. Fat and sweet, with good grip but some unabsorbed acidity. Has life but comes across as disjointed today.
