Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2024-2026, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Dec 2023

From a half bottle, the 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Vergers is drinking attractively today, offering up aromas of pear and white flowers mingled with toasty new oak, followed by a medium-bodied, satiny and bright palate. Given the format, it certainly exceeded my expectations.

Bright medium yellow. Lovely energetic aromas of peach, pear, white flowers and brown spices. Dry and penetrating; tactile but not weighty owing to a mineral firmness and very good lemony acidity. A crushed stone quality on the finish contributes to the overall impression of tension and lift. Still youthfully tight but I like this style. My sample showed more juiciness and a floral quality with 24 hours in the recorked bottle.

Freshly cut flowers, mint, pear and white peach notes burst from the glass in the 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers. Beautifully focused and articulated, the Vergers is one of the most complete wines in this range. It is a pleasure to follow the Vergers in the glass as it fleshes out with expressive layers of flavor.

Lovely citrus purity on the nose with just a hint of oak and creaminess. Firm and dense but full of life and vitality. Great concentration and a hint of clementine to add zest on the finish. GV (JH)
