Note di degustazione
The 1995 Montrachet is rich, viscous and tropical, with tons of both flavor and textural intensity from botrytis that year. Ample and generous on the palate, with stunning depth, the 1995 is one of the most opulent, flamboyant Montrachets ever made at the domaine. Tasted at the Los Angeles DRC Montrachet vertical.

Always an intriguing wine, the 1995 Montrachet shows all of its typically exotic, buttery notes, with plenty of candied citrus, hazelnut, honey and spice notes. The 1995 is one of the more flamboyant, opulent Montrachets of the 1990s at DRC, although this is not an especially fine example.
Served alongside the lobster dish, the 1995 Montrachet, is highly enjoyable, if not quite as opulent as it can be. Orange blossom, lemon confit and white flowers add nuance throughout. At its very best, the 1995 is a racy, flamboyant Montrachet with considerable botrytis-inflected oiliness. By that standard, this bottle is a bit subdued.
Tasted from magnum, the 1995 Montrachet is off the charts. Apricot jam, orange blossom, honey and spices are front and center. The Montrachet has everything the Bâtard doesn’t have, specifically weight, richness and intensity. Extravagant and opulent to the core, the 1995 is simply magnificent today. What a wine.
