Note di degustazione
The 1975 Montrachet Grand Cru was served in tandem with the 2005 Corton-Charlemagne from Coche-Dury and frankly, it does not stand a chance. This was not an auspicious era for DRC, nor a great vintage for the whites. Amber in hue, there is a little turbidity in the glass. With notes of wet wool, nougat and flecks of white chocolate, the nose is fully mature and deserves light applause for its delineation. The palate is simple and a bit oily in texture with dried honey and peach skin flavours, but it stumbles a little as it approaches the finish. This is actually better than I expected, though I would drink it in the near future. Tasted at Jordi's 50th birthday at Nando's.
