Deep ruby-red. Superripe aromas of crystallized cherry, raspberry, marzipan and dark chocolate. Offers compelling sweetness and density, yet is currently rather unforthcoming in the middle. Still, this is a complete Volnay that combines finesse and power. Finishes very long, with substantial but fine tannins that spread over the entire palate.
