Note di degustazione
Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting, Colin's 2014 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru les Vergers has an uncomplicated bouquet with light Golden Delicious and a pond water/algae-like scent that became more pronounced in the glass. The palate is balanced with a touch of spice on the entry, gentle and harmonious even if it feels a tad soft on the finish. This does not quite match up to my hopes from barrel, and I would drink now and over the next 5-6 years.

Satin texture and real concentration. Very sleek and appetising. (JR)
Pale yellow. Aromas of orchard fruits, herbs and spices, plus a suggestion of mirabelle . Plush and enveloping but with good energy to the fine-grained flavors of pear and honey. A note of pepper intensifies the middle palate. Longer than the Chaumées.
