Note di degustazione
Ca' Romè is based in Barbaresco, but also produces two Barolos from Serralunga. Its Cerretta is aged both in large casks and in barriques. The nose offers robust cherry and raspberry aromas with touches of tar and dried herbs. Rich and velvety, full-bodied and generous, there's ample ripe fruit here with integrated tannins. It's quite forward for Serralunga, but there's good structure behind the fruit, and although the acidity is moderate its balanced and stylish, with a fairly long finish.

The 2013 Barolo Cerretta is a bit more translucent but also more powerful than the Rapèt, which seems to also heighten the impression of acidity and tannin. Red cherry, cranberry, white pepper, mint and freshly cut flowers give the Cerretta its lifted, super-classic feel. The tannins need a few years to soften, but there is certainly plenty to look forward to. The Cerretta is a bit more classically austere in style than the Rapèt.
