Note di degustazione
There's just one 450-liter barrel of the 2024 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes (Domaine Louis Jadot), a medium-bodied, supple and giving wine redolent of cherries, baking spices and toasty oak, concluding with a gently structured finish.

The 2024 Volnay Clos des Chênes 1er Cru has more charm and fruité on the nose compared to the Clos de la Barre this year. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins, moderate depth and structured but again it does not have the precision and flair of the previous vintage.
Thin, chalky soil at 230–370 m. Cask sample. Lightish crimson. Very different from the Jadot Beaune wines just tasted. Sweet, ripe-fruited and a little spicy. Firm, juicy and dynamic. Less flirtatious than the Beaunes, firmer, denser and spicier. A firm grip but filled out by the fruit. Wholehearted and persistent if not yet a charmer. (JH)

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
