Note di degustazione
The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Champ Gain 1er Cru has a very phenolic bouquet that is current debating whether to be a white Burgundy or a white northern Rhône! Beeswax, honeysuckle, peach skin and a touch of mandarin. The palate is medium-bodied with peach and elderflower on the entry. Moderate depth, showy but missing the breeding of the best Pulignys in this vintage. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain is one of the highlights of the range, offering up a lovely bouquet of white currants, citrus zest, fresh pear and hazelnuts, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and enveloping palate that's underpinned by racy acids, concluding with a penetrating finish.
The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Champ Gain 1er Cru is clearly a level up compared to the Village Cru, offering intense orange zest, Granny Smith apple and crushed pebble aromas. The lightly spiced, well-balanced palate offers a fine bead of acidity and orange zest, mango and light pineapple notes toward the persistent finish. Drink over the next decade.
