Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2023-2033, Jeb Dunnuck, Mar 2023

The 2001 Brunello Di Montalcino Rennina takes on more inky richness with its opaque ruby to garnet hue and lifts from the glass with are notes of sweet balsamic, pressed flowers, baked red plum, and cassis. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with more sweet herbs of rosemary, mineral earth, and ripe fruit. Drink 2023-2033.

Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2021-2025, Eric Guido, Vinous, Mar 2021

The 2001 Brunello di Montalcino Rennina is incredibly pretty, displaying a deep and vibrant red color with orange hues. It’s feminine in style and sweetly scented, opening with notes of tobacco and mint evolving into savory cherry sauce and hints of clove. It is silky and lifted in feel, with zesty acids giving way to a cascade of taut red fruits and minerals. Plum, inner earth tones, roses and a tug of residual tension defines the finale, as the Rennina tapers off slowly. While there’s plenty of energy and balance, the 2001’s remaining wood tannin may begin to overwhelm its fruit in due time. My best advice is to enjoy this within the next three to five years. Sampled from the winery's cellar.

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2007-2017, Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, Dec 2006

The 2001 Brunellos show the pedigree of the superior vintage. The Rennina is a lovely effort with an attractive floral nose and suggestions of sweet red fruit and tobacco on a medium-bodied frame of notable elegance. It is fresher and exhibits more refinement, particularly in its silky tannins, than the 2000. It should start drinking well in a few years and last to at least age 15. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2017. Importer: Paterno Imports, Lake Bluff, IL; tel. (847) 604-8900
