Note di degustazione
Alvina Pernot’s Caillerets comes from a plot situated just below Chevalier-Montrachet. With its stony soils, it is one of the finest Premiers Crus in the Côte de Beaune – as is reflected in the wine here. The nose is rich and ripe, with alphonso mango but a zesty freshness too. The weight of fruit on the palate is impressive, but with a freshness and pithy grip that drives the palate, making the whole thing feel lithe and long. Round yet retaining beautiful minerality, with a gunflint smokiness on the long finish, this is beautiful. No new oak this year.

The 2024 Puligny Montrachet Les Caillerets ler Cru has a complex nose with green apple, white chalk and flinty scents emerging from the glass. There is just a very subtle reduction here. The palate is tensile from the start with citrus lemon, blood orange and a sharp line of acidity with a very persistent finish that lingers in the mouth. Excellent.

These grapes are picked at the same time as the vineyard owner does, but the juice is settled slightly clearer. A light peachiness. Caillerets shows its stones with a lemon tint, overpowering the peaches. Middleweight and concentration but with length.
