The 2013 Barolo is a gorgeous wine from Trediberri. Succulent red cherry, rose petal, mint, spice and lavender are some of the many notes that blossom in this exquisite, highly expressive Barolo. The 2013 has a bit more depth and midpalate pliancy than the 2014 tasted alongside it, but a bit less persistence. Hints of sage, rose petal, anise and underbrush are woven into the exquisite, inviting finish.

La Morra. The wine spent a total of 18 days on the skins and was matured in 50-hl oak casks, one of which was a second-use Allier cask. Mid ruby with the beginning of orange tinges. Gorgeous, fresh, lively red fruit with posh oak notes. Wonderfully tactile grainy tannins and perfectly integrated acidity. Wonderful fruit finish with tactile, crunchy red fruit. (WS)
La Morra. Tasted blind. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Deep nose of brooding, cool fruit. Supple and backward and with wonderful balance. Hints of spice on the finish with lively acidity and coating tannins. Mid weight and elegant and with a certain coolness to it. (WS)
