Subtle, pure perfume of lemon, peach and crushed rock. Dense and energetic, with very ripe stone and citrus fruit flavors given almost painful cut by salty, citrussy acidity. Finishes long and aromatic, with terrific energy and lift. Today this seems clearly richer and more successful than the 2012 version. A terrific showing.

Colin's 2011 Puligny-Montrachet La Truffière is another standout. An energetic, taut wine, the 2011 is laced with flowers, white stone fruits, lemon and graphite. All the elements are layered together beautifully in a wine that impresses for its poise, brilliance and length. The 2011 needs another year or two in bottle to soften, but it is quite pretty.
Heady and indeed truffle scented. Dried mushrooms and violets too. Tis is the sort of wine that's very good but you just know that in a riper vintage it would be absolutely stunning. Finishes just a bit sooner than you want. (JR)
Peach, candied pineapple and sexy oak spices on the pure but subdued nose. Silky on entry, then youthfully imploded in the middle, showing almost Chablis-like citric cut to the flavors of white peach, noble herbs and vanillin oak. Finishes with serious length and biting minerality. Very promising.
