Note di degustazione
The 2004 Barolo Case Nere is a dark, brooding wine endowed with notes of smoke, earthiness and tobacco that emerge from its intense frame. This contemplative wine opens nicely in the glass, showing notable delineation in its aromas and flavors, with plenty of stuffing to support the tannins. It remains a very finessed yet backward Case Nere in need of a few years of bottle age.

Enzo Boglietti makes some of the richest, most deeply-flavored Barolos in Piedmont. In recent years his wines have acquired an additional level of complexity and clarity. These 2004s are his finest wines yet. Importer: The Rare Wine Co., Sonoma, CA; tel. (707) 996-4484
Sweet, deeply spiced but aromatic dark red fruit. Wonderfully ripe yet fresh sweet fruit. Great depth and yet still aromatic on the mid palate despite its length and power. A touch of oaky spice. Very, very long. Great stuff. (JH)
