The 2013 Barbaresco Riserva Rose Delle Casasse leads with aromas of preserved strawberries, wildflowers, and dried herbs. It’s ripe and showing some evolution, but it has good length and the structure to hold it together. With its fantastic, sweet tannins and richness throughout, I would personally prefer to drink this now, but it has plenty of life ahead. Drink 2024-2030. Natale and Francesca Simonetta lead their small family estate in Barbaresco, producing approximately 10,000 bottles per year. Their bottling of Rose delle Casasse, which is uniquely and exclusively made from the Rose clone of Nebbiolo and sourced from a single vineyard in Neive, is always made as a Riserva.

The 2013 Barbaresco Riserva Rose delle Casasse is powerful is beguiling. The intense aromatics of the Rosé clone reveal themselves with time in the glass, but the 2013 remains tightly wound and in need of bottle age to be at its best. In the early going the 2013 impresses with its deep character and incredibly distinctive personality.
