Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 2019-2022, Neal Martin, May 2019
The 1988 Montrachet Grand Cru offers butterscotch and white chocolate on the nose that feels a little smudged and ragged considering the vineyard. It oxidizes slightly with aeration. The palate has a honeyed entry and lacks a bit of acidity, though it freshens a little towards the finish with a dab of sherbet and later, a subtle tang of gingerbread. To be honest, I was expecting more and perhaps bottles should be opened in the near future. Tasted at the Petrus dinner at Hide restaurant in London.
