This is a soft, enveloping effort with creamy textures and ripe red and black fruits swirling throughout. Balsamic spices and clove linger through the tension-filled finale, along with a coating of gentle tannins that tug at the cheeks.

Focused primarily on freshness and red fruits, the La Gerla 2021 Rosso di Montalcino presents immediate tones of dried cherry, redcurrant and dried raspberry. The wine is simple and chunky on the mid-palate, thanks to a rather raw quality of young, chewy fruit. Some 20,000 bottles were made.
