Note di degustazione
The 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets offers up notes of pear, hazelnut cream, citrus oil and mandarin, framed by light reduction and revealing some of the musky top-notes characteristic of light botrytis influence—something that isn't uncommon in this white Burgundy vintage and which Sébastien confirms affected his Caillerets this year. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, sapid and concentrated, more open-knit than the taut 2014 rendition, with a glossy attack and considerable mid-palate amplitude. The tangy finish is long and stony. This was the first year to receive an extended sur lie élevage, and its time on the lees really makes itself felt in the wine's structural elegance and completeness.
