Note di degustazione
Pale yellow. Aromatic nose of stone fruits, petrol and gunflint; shows an almost vendange tardive-like ripeness. Then fat, concentrated, large-scaled and rich, with an exotic honeyed flavor. The strong alcohol and toasty oak give the finish a dry edge.

Those who love oak-laced Chardonnays will be enthralled by Morey’s 2003 Chassagne-Montrachet Vide-Bourse (white). Its buttered toast scents lead to a personality redolent with bacon, grilled wood, oak spices, and toasty pears. Medium-bodied, lush, and seamless, this satin-textured beauty sports a long, angle-free finish. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. Importer: Vineyard Brands, Birmingham, AL; tel. (40% frosted, but these 80-year-old vines were relatively unaffected by the extreme heat) Musky, ripe aromas of apricot, nuts and marzipan. Fat, sweet and concentrated, with fresh fruit salad flavors, especially peach. This has good volume but is a bit less expressive today than the Morgeot. This wine is always difficult to taste early, like my Batard, notes Morey. Just a hint of a dry edge on the back end.
