Offering up notes of citrus oil, fresh pastry and dried white flowers, the 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets is medium to full-bodied, satiny and open-knit, with a generous, charming profile. It will drink well young.

Cask sample. Light spice and citrus nose and more stony/mineral than the Puligny Chalumaux. Rounded and gentle on the palate, lacking intensity and tension but harmonious. (JH)

The Latour family has been growing vines in Burgundy since at least 1731. Their négociant business – today one of the region’s biggest names – was founded in 1797. Still family-owned today, the company owns 48 hectares of vines, 27 of which are Grand Cru, as well as its own cooperage.
