Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 2015-2021, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Nov 2014

Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Vergers 2011 has a refined bouquet with light honeysuckle and jasmine scents that unfold with time. The palate is crisp and fresh, quite compact at the moment with crisp citrus fruit, but it cuts away a little abruptly on the finish. Not bad, but it seems a little clipped.

Bright yellow. Reticent nose dominated by crushed stone and menthol. Tightly wound but already quite nuanced, showing excellent acid/mineral cut to its flavors of lemon, hay and fresh herbs. Finishes juicy and long, with suggestions of orchard fruits. An excellent showing today, but there's more to come.

Lovely lift and purity to the aromas of white peach, crystallized lemon peel, flowers and wild herbs. Juicy, tactile and round, showing excellent inner-mouth tension for the vintage. I like the sugar/acid balance here. The finish conveys a dry, saline impression nicely balanced by juicy, lemony fruit. This has 2010-like lift in a supple, pliant package. Very promising.
