Note di degustazione
The 2015 Barolo Bussia is an austere, dark and smoky expression with light touches of spice and grilled herb that lift gently from the bouquet. From the 2015 vintage, which proved steadily sunny and warm throughout the entire summer season, this wine has consequently developed a pleasantly thick textural fiber that is looser and richer in this vintage. The wine boasts an immediate, fruit-forward approach that gives this bottle a medium to long-term drinking window.

The 2015 Barolo Bussia is quite a bit more interesting than the Scarrone tasted alongside it. Freshly cut flowers, bright red cherry/raspberry fruit, spice and blood orange all run through the 2015, lending notable complexity throughout. Ample, pliant and super-expressive, the 2015 is a total knock-out. It is another terrific effort from a historic estate that has really upped their game of late.
Thereâs a pretty, cedary and pine-cone lift to this Barolo, which also reveals dried nutmeg, tar and candied cherry kernel. Itâs very drying on the palate, which is medium in body, but big on chunky tannins. Drink from 2021.
