Note di degustazione
The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Caillerets 1er Cru is a little richer on the nose, though still impressively focused, offering lemon thyme and crushed stone, and a touch of jasmine in the background. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, much more extract compared to its peers, and a waxy texture, but I would have liked more tension and terroir expression on the finish. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Savigny-lès-Beaune.

(this parcel was picked first in 2017, with high sugars as well as firm acidity; from a 1973 planting): Full medium yellow. Elegant, pure scents of minerals and flowers, plus a subtle hint of oak char. Suave and precise on the palate, with flavors of white stone fruits, spices and spring flowers lifted by a stony element. Not an opulent style or especially sweet but intensely flavored and nicely balanced, finishing with subtle rising length. Very pure, understated white Burgundy. (13.5% alcohol)
