Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2009-2013, David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, Dec 2009

Boyer’s 2007 Puligny-Montrachet Les Rucheaux offers counterpoint of piquant walnut with sweet suggestions of honeysuckle and quince; as well as a deft balance between creaminess and refreshment. This technically village-level Puligny from 60 year old vines displays a lot of elegance and refinement, and excellent persistence if not profound depth. I would plan on enjoying it over the next 3-4 years. Vincent Boyer’s 2007s – all of which were bottled by the following September, and weigh in at 12.5-13% alcohol – display a diversity of personalities, but share a sense of transparency to nuance, and a consistency of quality not equaled by his 2006s. Peach, butter and grilled nuts on the nose. Firmer and more delineated than the Ormeau, with sweet fruit flavors leavened by slightly spiky minerally acidity. Finishes with good length and cut.

Ripe aromas of musky peach and butter, lifted by a mineral nuance. Juicier and leaner than the Ormeau, with very good lift to the lemon, lime and mineral flavors. Firmly built.
