Note di degustazione
Musky aromas of lemon, pear and peach; purer and more vibrant than the foregoing samples. Sweet, round and on the soft side, with fresh peach flavor and good length. Offers a silky texture and moderate delineation. Not obviously hot.

The 2003 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos St.-Jean (white) is a step up. Its rich aromatics of pulp-laden pears are followed by a personality with more depth than any of the preceding wines. Suave, satin-textured, supple, and straightforward, its sappy white fruit-dominated core lingers in its impressive finish. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. Mint, flowers and citrus skin on the nose; cleaner than the comparatively roasted village Chassagne. Fat, sweet and a bit gassy, with a thickness of texture and an exotic lichee note that reminded me of white wine from the South of France. Fat but flat.
