Note di degustazione
Good bright, dark red with little sign of development. Stem-influenced aromas of black raspberry, wild herbs, menthol and savory soil tones. Fairly rich in the mouth but showing a distinctly medicinal aspect to its flavors of dark cherry, menthol and wild herbs. Finishes with very good length but the dusty tannins are a bit hard-edged and clenched. I'd say this wine still needs more time but will it expand? Etienne de Montille told me that 1999 was one of the first years when his father Hubert experimented with 100% whole-cluster vinification with this wine as well as his Volnay Mitans and Pommard Rugiens.

Deep ruby. Pungent aromas of cherry, raspberry and licorice show a slightly medicinal austerity. Wonderfully vibrant and intense on the palate, with superb flavor intensity, density of texture and inner-mouth perfume. Finishes with powerful but ripe tannins, a late note of pepper, and superb grip and length.
