The 2017 Volnay Clos des Chênes 1er Cru has a generous, floral bouquet of raspberry, crushed strawberry and a touch of marmalade. Maybe it would benefit from a little more delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. Very Volnay-like, with plenty of fruit in the middle. Displaying fine acidity and good persistence, this has a lot of potential. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.
