Note di degustazione
Cooler and more rainy vintage but no hail here. Had to reduce the yields to get ripeness. Lightish ruby with a bricky rim. Gentle mulched-leaves notes and still the sweetness of red fruit. And floral too. Classically complex aromas that are fruity, floral and with a hint of umami. Extremely dry texture, the tannins chalky fine but blocking the finish. (JH)

The Barbaresco Serraboella is grown on soil composed of calcareous marl and tufa soils. The vineyards are tended by the family, by hand, with low yields to ensure full ripeness every year. Higher up the hill than the Barbera. Bright ruby, hemp nose. Dry and with more ripeness than some Nebbiolos. Quite a charmer. (JR)
Neive. Calcareous clay and 60-year-old vines. 30% in tonneaux of first to sixth use, remainder in botte grande . Lustrous mid ruby. A little marked by dusty oak, and the fine fruit is still a little backward. Fine oatmeal notes too. Gorgeous succulence and firm, serious and long tannins. Long, compact and impressive. (WS)
Deep garnet. Autumnal undergrowth – not a usual aroma in 2014 Barbaresco. Then broad bright sweet fruit. Lots to chew on. A very sincere wine somehow. But not for immediate drinking. (JR)
