Note di degustazione
Revisited from bottle, Faiveley's 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain is performing very well indeed, wafting from the glass with aromas of citrus oil, pear, nutmeg, freshly baked bread and struck match. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, with fine depth at the core, tangy acids and a long finish, this has fulfilled all the promise it showed a year ago.

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Champ-Gain 1er Cru has a very laconic nose that, despite aeration, refuses to give much away. The palate is balanced with orange peel and apricot notes, but it lacks mineralité and terroir expression. For early drinking.
Barrel sample. Spicy like the Puligny Referts but a little denser on the palate. Deep and creamy. Firmly structured and still mouth-wateringly fresh. Long, too. (JH)
