The 2000 Barolo Albe shows all the fragrance and elegance of the vintage in its rose petal and iris nose, given an additional complexity by the notes of cinnamon and anise. The firm body, melting tannins, warmth, and vigor indicate another dozen years of life ahead. It is nothing like the powerhouse 1999 Barolo Bricco delle Viole of the house, but, then again, the two vintages are not exactly of comparable quality either.
