The 2011 Barolo Ornato opens to set flowers and forest berry. Those aromas evolve within a few minutes of aeration to include crushed stone, licorice and grilled herb. The wine's complexity emerges with time. The style is graceful and subdued, but it works very nicely with the warm fruit harvested this vintage.

Serralunga d’Alba. Mid ruby with orange tinges. A tiny bit reductive at first. Compact and intense strawberry palate with a perfect layer of brick-like tannins. (WS)
