Punteggio 17.5/20 · Da bere 2026-2038, Walter Speller, jancisrobinson.com, Oct 2025

La Morra. Submerged cap for around 55 days for 20% of the mass, the rest stayed on the skins for the duration of the alcoholic fermentation, which was around 20 days. Lustrous and just mid ruby with orange tinges. This combines freshness with lift and concentration. Balsamic hints of eucalyptus and ground white pepper. Intense and concentrated and lush without being heavy or rich. Ripe acidity carrying the intense cherry and raspberry fruit. Rich layer of gravelly tannins adding tension to the finish. Already delicious now but I can’t wait to see this after five or six years in bottle. (WS)

Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2025-2045, Jeb Dunnuck, May 2025

From the Cru in the northwest, the 2021 Barolo Berri is a medium ruby color and has a fantastic nose with a spicy and attractive profile of cranberries, clove, roses, and dusty, brushy earth. Medium-bodied, it’s even on the palate, with even, ripe acidity, chalky tannins, and a lovely purity, and it stays light on its feet, with a floating feel. I expect this to age very well over the coming 20 years, but it’s hard to resist now.

Nicolo and Stefania Oberto are slowly putting Berri on the map Silky, aromatic and creamy on the palate, the 2021 Barolo Berri is striking in its beauty, Crushed flowers, sweet red-toned fruit, chalk, mint and white pepper all meld together effortlessly. Silky, polished tannins frame the finish. The 2021 doesn't have the immediacy of the 2020, but it may catch up to it ane day because of its energy. It is a superb young Barolo-that much is clear. About 30% of wine saw submerged cap maceration. Time in cask was 25 months

This is an aromatically bright Barolo, featuring aromas of dried flowers, mushrooms, earth and sliced strawberries. It is medium- to full-bodied, showing a very refined profile of vibrant fruit and a touch of concentration. The wine is precise and well knitted. It originates from Berri, in the highest part of La Morra. It is already a joy to taste, but better to wait until 2026.
