Open and invitingly aromatic. Piercing citrus purity, dry texture, almost chalky. Long and salty on the finish. (JH)

The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet En Caillleret 1er Cru is tightly wound on the nose, but it repays aeration with wet limestone, walnut and subtle fumé scents unfolding in the glass. The palate has a noticeable reduction on the entry and fine weight, though I wonder if there is just a little too much reduction on the finish at the expense of delineation and terroir expression?
