The 2023 Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru is often one of the strongest wines from de Montille, and this is no different. The 60% whole cluster is beautifully integrated into a bouquet of finely poised dark berry fruit with a noticeable marine influence and superb delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, building white pepper and a hint of clove toward the persistent finish. As good as the 2022? Maybe better?
