Aromas of white flowers, sweet stone fruit and vanilla pod introduce Drouhin's 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Village, a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy wine that's lively and charming.
Pale lemon and lime, with at the moment more oak showing, as the Puligny has not yet been racked. There is plenty of quality orchard fruit, while a good thread of acidity extends the fruit well out at the back of the palate.
Cask sample. Just a baby but already full of charm. Floral; freesia, even. Has the greens and freshness and perfume of a florist shop. Lots of spaces within the elegantly held, ballerina-control structure. Nectarine and green-peach skin. Lots of fine layers and fine energy and ripe restraint. (TC)
