Aromas of sweet orchard fruit, honeycomb, freshly baked bread and vanilla pod introduce the 2023 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered wine that shows excellent grip and structure this year.

The 2023 Meursault Charmes 1er Cru has a very clean and pure bouquet that's a little more petrolly compared to the Genevrières. This is more complex and involving, revealing pressed white flowers with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with a crisp line of acidity. The 2023 Charmes has more precision than the 2022, with a pleasingly strict and saline finish. A dab of lemongrass pops up on the aftertaste. Drink it over the next 20 to 25 years.
Last to be picked, from the lower part on cooler clay. A generous bouquet, obviously richer with perhaps some ripe melon notes. Very intense at the finish, less subtle but still a fine mouthful of Meursault.
